Overview

The Reporting Portal in the LPG provides all users with a quick and easy way to run some pre-defined reports and, for those braver souls, also enables the creation of new table reports, crosstabs, charts and dashboards.  The portal is powered by TIBCO Jaspersoft who provide a series of very useful tutorials, available within the Portal.

Yarris has developed and made available a number of different reporting topics (ie data sets) for LPG use.  A topic is a collection of data fields that relate to a particular area within the LPG (eg Matters, Engagements, Budget, Invoices, etc).  From these topics, Ad Hoc Views and Reports can be generated.

Home Page

The Portal home page opens to display five icons, three of which are relevant for LPG user use.

Data Sources – define connection to the database. These are created and maintained by Yarris.  They are able to be viewed by LPG users but no changes can be made.

Domains – add structure to the data source. These are created and maintained by Yarris.  They are able to be viewed by LPG users but no changes can be made.

Ad Hoc Views – visualise your data for analysis. These are defined extracts from the topics provided by Yarris.  New Ad Hoc Views can be created by LPG users.

Reports – create and format interactive reports. These are formatted report layouts based on Ad Hoc Views.  New Reports can be created by LPG users.

Dashboards – combine reports into a dashboard layout. Dashboards can be created by LPG users.

Users are able to create and access their Ad Hoc Views, Reports and Dashboards from the links next to each icon or they can interact with the menu options in the banner.

The Library presents a list of all Ad Hoc Views and Reports that have been created that you have access to.  The list is presented in Alphabetical order. 

From the View menu, users are able to view Search Results, Schedules, the Repository and Messages. 

From the Create menu, users are able to create Ad Hoc Views, Reports and Dashboards.
